Condolences
Oct. 14, 1925 – Jan. 20, 2007
Paul Junichi Matsumura, 81, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family and friends on Saturday, Jan. 20, 2007.
Mr. Matsumura was born Oct. 14, 1925 to Sadahiko and Sumiyo Matsumura in Esparto. He attended school in Esparto graduating in 1943 from Amache Internment Camp High School in Colorado. He left camp to enlist in the United States Army where he served two tours of duty. Upon his return, he met and married his wife of 58 years, Tamiyo. He farmed in Esparto until his retirement until 1991. He enjoyed fishing, bowling, golf and driving around inspecting the farmland.
He is survived by his wife Tamiyo; sister Shuny Sagara; sons Jerry Matsumura and wife Leanna, Paul Matsumura and Tori; daughter Kathy Green and husband Jeremy; grandchildren Reiko Matsumura, Tammy Machado, Natasha Matsumura, Taylour Matsumura, Alexis Matsumura, Tammy Santiago and Myrna Spiva.
He is preceded in death by his grandson Hiroshi Matsumura.
A memorial service is scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 26 at the Buddhist Church of Sacramento, 2401 Riverside Blvd., Sacramento. A private burial service will be held at a later date. McNary’s Chapel of Woodland is assisting the family with arrangements.
Another member of my grandparents’ generation has passed. I don’t know that I’d seen Paul since I was a very little boy, but his sister spends a lot of time with my grandma at her rest home. Plus, the Matsumuras were one of the other Japanese families that I grew up around in Esparto.
A sad day, indeed. My best to the Matsumura family.
Need An Operating System
Wanker of the Day: this guy (emphasis mine):
Hi,
So I’m posting for a rather large project. I need someone to program me a new OS (Operasting System) that looks different than Ms Windows XP etc. but has the same style. It does not need to run on a mac but all the other PCs. It’s supposed to have a stylish look with clear edges etc. And ITS NOT SUPPOSED TO BE JUST A REDESIGNED WINDOWS as I’m going to sell that operating system later on. It’s going to be called BlueOrb.
These are some important points :
It should have ALL THE FEATURES that Windows Xp Professional has.
ALL the files that run on Windows XP ust also run on the BlueOrb OS.
It must have a very user-friendly interface (like MS WINDOWS XP)
When it gets Installed, the user needs to insert a serial number.
It HAS to be HACKER SAFE!
It must be quick and good looking.
Note that I only accept quality work and do not want any quickly done BS.

What not to say if a hot chick approaches you
I found this to be tremendously funny, probably because I know, deep down, that I would have said something much more pathetic:
One of the girls, turns to me, walks directly towards me, and starts up a conversation.
Girl : Hey
Me : What?
Girl : Hello, hows it going?
Me: What? Me?
Girl (starting to get a little flustered) : So, my friend and I have been wondering, whats this thing you’ve got around your neck?
Me: Oh, thats a dog tag. Its nothing really. My friend gave it to me. He bought it from Guess. It was 13.95 before taxes, and about 15.11 all in all. Yeah. It this whole fraternity, camaraderie thing.
Girl : Oh ok…
(awkward 20 second silence)
Girl : Ok then, buh-bye
I did mention they were drop-dead gorgeous right? And amazingly drop-dead gorgeous, at that?
I used to joke about creating the world’s first LP ROM
The absurdity of the idea made me feel clever and witty whenever I mentioned it to a friend. I guess I’m just ahead of my time.

Esurance Space Ghost ad
Normally I can’t figure out what the hell is going on in Esurance’s ads, but this one is just funny:
