Normally I only utter that phrase in jest, but in this case I sincerely mean it:
A judge sentenced Paris Hilton to 45 days in jail Friday for violating her probation, putting the brakes on the hotel heiress’ famous high life.
That’s okay. She’s rich and famous, so she’ll probably get a work release program or something, right?
Hilton [...] must go to jail on June 5 and she will not be allowed any work release, furloughs, use of an alternative jail or any electronic monitoring in lieu of jail, Superior Court Judge Michael T. Sauer ruled after a hearing.
Oh, snap!
Paris Hilton: pwned
It is sad really. She needs to grow up. She will look back on her past someday and be really embarrassd. Seems like her parents would step in and do something about her not being responsible to her name and her loved ones.Hopefully she won’t die doing something rediculous.
ISN’T IT JUST A SHAME THAT POOR LITTLE PARIS HAS TO BE TREATED LIKE ANYONE ELSE. MY FEELINGS ARE WITH HER (NOT !!!!!!!!!!!). SHE, LIKE ANYONE ELSE, SHOULD BE TREATED AS "THE COMMON MAN" WOULD BE. DRUNK DRIVERS KILL TOO MANY PEOPLE IN THIS COUNTRY AND EVERYWHERE. I’M SURE SHE’LL BE RIGHT BACK AT IT WHEN SHE GETS OUT AND HOPEFULLY THEY’LL REALLY THROW THE BOOK AT HER. TAKE A GOOD BOOK PARIS.
45 days in jail will be the best lesson she ever will learn, apparently she learned nothing from her idiot parents. I hope that she can’t buy her way out of this one. Incidentally, just what is her talent?
It’s really a shame that with all that money, her parents couldn’t have at least taught her good judgement….
cuz all those buckaroos aren’t going to do any good for her now! =-0
Oh well, the best things in life are free anyway… =-)
Paris Hilton deserves what she gets. Everytime you see this young woman, she is in some sort of trouble. She was arrested for being intoxicated and violated the terms of her probation, not showing up for mandatory classes set down by the terms of that probation and driving with a suspended license. She deserves to be sent to jail. She is no different than any other citizen of this country who breaks the law. By the way, her mom should be ashamed of herself for her outburst in the court. Why is she crying wolf now, why not help her daughter when she first got into trouble.
Basically her attorney said he’s disgusted in the legal system. What an ass! Would we, the working blue collar get ANY of the following breaks (below) if caught? Not hardly but why SHOULD we or anyone?! Waaaaaaay too many people hurt/killed to let ANYONE off and the sentences should be harsher then even what Paris got for disregarding the law over and over. Seems her "STUNNED" mother should feel differently towards this then she does. And where is her father? HE should take the lead, turn her skinny butt over his knee, show her tough love, and wear it out!!!!! Her father isn’t much of a man. Spare the rod, spoil the child??? Paris proves that point VERY VERY well! If any of my kids pulled crap like Paris has I would’ve worn them out. And if that didn’t stop them…..God and everyone would know it wasn’t because me, their father, didn’t step up to the plate to try to stop them. Mr.Hilton? What a wuss. Wear her butt out, take her car, cut her money off, take away the sweet little perks the brat get? Yeah, her father could but no doubt the family spends their money to bail her out over and over. I think she should get more time then she got. Make her pick up trash on the roadside in an orange county penal jump suite. I would LOVE to see that sight. Make her do it to learn humility and make her father do it for his failures AS her father. No, I’m not jealous of the rich at all. It just irritates me to see someone of wealth not appreciate it AND I think they should be treated the same as we are on the lower end of the food chain.
Hilton pleaded no contest in January to reckless driving stemming from a Sept. 7 arrest in Hollywood. Police said she appeared intoxicated and failed a field sobriety test. She had a blood-alcohol level of .08 percent, the level at which an adult driver is in violation of the law.
She was sentenced to 36 months probation, alcohol education and $1,500 in fines.
Two other traffic stops and failure to enroll in a mandated alcohol education program landed her back in court.
It’s funny how we seem to rejoice when someone like Paris gets into trouble. Just becaue she leads a glamorous life does not mean she has it easy. Money does not buy peace, happiness and contentment. Personally, I wouldn’t ever want to be in the lime light having the world around judging every move I make and every word I speak. It seems that movie stars, entertainers and the rich feed on this attention at times. However, I don’t think they always enjoy it. It must be very stressfull. Paris Hilton’s life is different than most. Understanding that alone should make us realize that we cannot judge her on our terms. I don’t pity her, but I do empathize with her situation. I don’t think she deserves to go to jail. I would rather keep those spaces open for true criminals. She is not a criminal. She is just young and making mistakes as we all have done and still do. As for her video: I did not find it to be overly sexual in content. I thought it was well done. It shows a couple in love and the song is pretty. I enjoyed it. I say give her a break and realize she is just a young woman who makes mistakes just like anyone else, only her mistakes are seen by the world. The rest of us can be thankful ours are not. I feel the judge is making an example of her. Showing the world that he will not give her a break. I’m certain that many young women who are NOT in the Lime Light did/would not go to jail for this same offense. I hope she is okay and the time goes by quickly for her.
Thank Goodness! Finally a judge had the guts to do what’s right for the whole of society and not just celebs. They are real people, too. If I had just been caught driving drunk, I certainly would have been in jail the first time. Then again, my name isn’t "Hilton".
At least she’ll get segregated from regular population. That should make her feel "special". They should put her in with the "regular" people, to see what really happens when you break the law. She’s getting paradise compaired to what regular population get. I don’t know personally, but I’ve seen some documentaries which are scary (and I’m sure they are showing the most decent parts of prison life).
I wonder if they will let her bring her little dog and cell phone?
